Wedding DJ Pricing Explained: What Am I Actually Paying For?
One of the most common questions I get is about my pricing. I get it—weddings are expensive, and you want to know exactly what you’re paying for. So let’s break it down.
When you see my 4-hour, 5-hour, and 6-hour pricing, you’re not just paying for me to show up and hit play. You’re paying for a full-service experience. Think of it like billable time—whenever I’m actively DJing, making announcements, or managing the flow of the event, that’s included in your package.
For example, let’s say your wedding timeline looks like this:
4:00-4:30 PM – Ceremony (mic’d up for vows)
4:30-5:30 PM – Cocktail hour (background playlist, no charge)
5:30-11:00 PM – Reception (DJ’ing, MC’ing, keeping the party going)
This would fall under a 6-hour package, covering ceremony and reception time.
Alternatively, if your ceremony is happening at a church and you only need DJ services for cocktail hour and reception, your timeline might look like this:
4:00-5:00 PM – Cocktail hour (DJ’ing)
5:00-10:00 PM – Reception
This is also a 6-hour package, because I'm actively spinning for both cocktail hour and reception.
One thing I always make clear—setup and teardown time are never part of the package. I arrive early, set up everything, and make sure the sound is perfect before your guests even arrive.
